Data types explained
Plan: Available on the paid plan.
With Automated reporting, you choose which data your workforce management system sends to Loop IQ. Both options are valid, so select the one that best reflects how your organisation records attendance.
Roster
Uses your planned shifts. This option suits organisations that keep rosters up to date, where swaps, call-outs and late cover arrangements are recorded in the workforce management system on the day rather than retrospectively.
Timesheet
Uses the hours recorded as worked. This option suits organisations that capture attendance separately from the roster, such as through clock-ins or approved timesheets, and treat the roster as a forecast rather than a record.
Why the choice matters
Roster and timesheet data can produce different results for the same month. For example, if an RN was rostered on but called in sick and the shift went uncovered, roster data would show an RN as present (unless the roster was updated), while timesheet data would correctly show an absence. Choose the source that most accurately reflects what occurred at your facilities, as this is what you are declaring.
